Williams helps create a pathway for students affected by global crises

Today, Williams was one of seven colleges and universities to join in announcing the new Global Student Haven Initiative. Organized by Pomona College, the Initiative is an effort by this group of leading schools to reduce the obstacles faced by potentially college-eligible students affected by war or global crisis, or living as refugees

Students admitted as a result of the program will benefit from our member institutions’ shared commitment to provide financial aid for all students with demonstrated need, along with campus services ranging from housing assistance to mental health support.

In addition to Williams and Pomona, the Initiative’s inaugural members include Bowdoin, Caltech, Dartmouth, New York University, Smith and Trinity. Other schools across the U.S. are being invited and may join over time.
