Williams students, faculty and staff,
We’re writing to inform you that a member of college staff has been the recipient of a hateful letter at their home. They were targeted based on their race and sexual orientation in an effort to intimidate and instill fear.
We’ve been in contact with the staff member, and the college will investigate to the fullest extent possible.
We’re offering the staff member options for ensuring their immediate and ongoing safety. And we urge anyone with information that might be relevant to contact Campus Safety immediately.
Williams rejects hatred. We stand together to support the person affected and our whole college community. The Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is available to anyone who wants to understand the resources available in this situation.
