The next Williams faculty member heading off to a college presidency is Ed Burger, professor of mathematics, who will become the 15th president of Southwestern University beginning this summer.

What an exciting future it will be for the university and for Ed, who brings to this position not only his extensive experience at Williams and elsewhere, but also his great passion for innovation in teaching and learning.
He’s a wonderful match for Southwestern, with its dedication to the liberal arts, for which he’ll continue to be a forceful and creative advocate.
Though we’ll miss his presence here in Williamstown, we wish him well in this important new venture.
