The Passing of Alice Gagnier

To the Williams community,

We just learned the sad news that retired staff member Alice Gagnier passed away on Tuesday, April 20, at her home in Williamstown. She was 77.

Born in Pittsfield, she attended local schools and moved to Williamstown a few years after high school. She worked at Berkshire Mutual Insurance Company before she came to Williams, where she served in various roles at the college, including her most recent as recruitment coordinator in Human Resources, until her retirement in 2006.

Active in the local community, she volunteered at the Williamstown Council on Aging, The Harper Center, and the Williamstown Public Library. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling to Outer Cape Cod, caring for her gardens, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her two sons, Grant and Jamison; sister, Marilynn; niece, Morgan; grandchildren, Chloe, Emilie, Mason and Trent; and many others.

A private memorial service will be held for Alice. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society through the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Homes in North Adams.

Our deepest condolences go out to Alice’s family, colleagues and friends.

Sincerely,
