Williams mourns the loss of Dining staff member Anthony Duane (Tony) Williams, who died at home in North Adams last Tuesday, December 13. He was 61 years old.
Born in Elmira, NY, to Ernest and Catherine (Black) Williams, Tony attended Elmira High School and worked for many years as a licensed welder and certified housing inspector. He was also educated in the culinary arts and joined Williams as a snack bar attendant in late 2017. His family reports that his joys in life included spending time with his family and fishing.
Tony was predeceased by his brother, Donald Black. He is survived by his partner, Williams College Children’s Center teacher Angela Jimenez, as well as his former wife and caregiver Tonya (Benoit) Williams; two sons, Christopher Sumlin and Anthony “TJ” Collin; and granddaughter, Minyah. Calling hours will be held at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home’s Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St. in North Adams, on Thursday, December 29, from 1 to 3 PM. Reminiscences are also welcome in Tony’s Book of Memories at any time.
