The Passing of Beverly King

To the Williams community,

It is my sad duty to report that retired staff member Beverly King passed away on October 7 at Williamstown Commons.

Born in North Adams, she attended local schools and graduated from Williamstown High School. As a youth she served in the Civil Air Patrol for the United States Air Force, and her family shared that when she was 20, she was a member of the queen’s court at the 1959 Fall Foliage Parade in North Adams. Beverly worked at the former Rudnick Cleaners on Spring Street before joining the staff at Williams, where she was a custodian with Buildings and Grounds for two decades until her retirement in 1999.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; their children, Joseph, Laura, Susan, and Victoria; her brother, Richard; and several grandchildren.

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, October 17 at 10 a.m. at the East Lawn Cemetery in Williamstown. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to PopCares through the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home in North Adams.

Our thoughts are with Beverly’s colleagues, family, and friends.

Sincerely,
